Occupancy Support Specialist

The BHA has an opening for a full-time occupancy support specialist. This is a responsible position, which shall report directly to the Director of Housing.  The position entails clerical work of an administrative nature and directly supporting the Occupancy Department. This person will be responsible for processing applicant eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher program involving various tasks with minimal supervision. The scope of activity includes but is not limited to assisting the occupancy department with applications, waiting lists and filing, answering the phone, greeting office visitors and directing them to the proper contact, collection of rent, and maintaining payment arrangements. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of State and Federal subsidized housing programs. They must be knowledgeable of administrative office skills, have experience working with computers and various software programs, communicate effectively both verbally and written, be able to handle multiple tasks, work in a team environment and enjoy working with and around other people.  Pay is commensurate with experience and we offer an excellent fringe benefit package. Minimum requirements:  Associates degree with three years of experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
